Why six words
Ernest Hemingway was challenged to write an entire story in six words. He wrote; "For sale; baby shoes. Never worn."
Some people would argue it's less of a story and more of a classified ad. To us it's a whole story; it's inspired and an inspiration. He provides only a story framework so each reader fills in the gaps, allowing them their own interpretation. It's a fantastic example of the power of brevity in writing.
So we got to thinking, you can probably say anything in only six words, even if it's a bit of a challenge. But we love a challenge.
Entering the challenge
We post a different topic each week; it might be in response to a news item, we might ask you to summarise your favourite book or justify your worst vice. Whatever it is you must respond in exactly six words.
